
Announcing Call for Speakers for
Joint Meeting of Arkansas SOPHE and APHA on April 11th, 2025
The Arkansas Society of Public Health Education (ARSOPHE) and Arkansas Public Health Association (APHA) is now accepting abstracts for their Annual Meeting. The theme for the meeting is “It Starts Here: Public Health Through Health Education in Arkansas.” Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts on the theme and current and emerging health education or public health issues.

General Information
Abstract Notification: Presenters will be notified via email of abstract status on February 17, 2025. Please make sure your email is correct and up-to-date.
Registration and Membership: You do NOT have to be an APHA or ARSOPHE member to submit an abstract. However, if your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author MUST register for the Annual Meeting by the pre-registration deadline.

Session Types:​
• Oral presentation: A 35 minute spoken presentation, including questions and answers for a total of 45 minutes
• National Public Health Week Webinar: Total of 1 hour comprised of 15-20 minute coordinated presentations by up to 3 people, including questions and answers
This year’s conference theme “It Starts Here: Public Health Through Health Education in Arkansas,” is centered on the role that health education plays on public health at a local and state level. Public health promotes and protects the health of people and the communities in which they live, learn, work, and play. Strategies to improve the public’s health are multifaceted and involve multiple entities, including federal and state governments, health providers, faith- and community-based organizations, and individuals.
