Arkansas SOPHE Case Study Competition

          ARSOPHE Case Study Competition

This competition gives undergraduate and graduate health education majors the opportunity to display their expertise the evening before AR SOPHE’s Annual Conference. Teams of two to three students are challenged to solve a real-world health issue using the competencies required for a school or community health educator.

Case scenarios will be provided to registered teams two weeks before the competition (INSERT DATE HERE). Students must prepare their response to their assigned case scenario, which they will then present at AR SOPHE’s Annual Conference. Each team is required to present their response to the Case Study using a 10-15 minute oral presentation followed by a 10-15 minute Question and Answer Session after their presentation. Students are limited to using PowerPoint only for their presentation to the judges.

The winner of the case study competition will be identified at AR SOPHE’s Annual Conference the next day. Faculty sponsors must register teams consisting of two or three members by (INSERT DATE HERE) by emailing Dr. Heather Hudson (heatherh@uca.edu) or Dr. Anita Sego (asego@uca.edu) with names and contact information of the students on each graduate and/or undergraduate team, the name of the faculty sponsor, and identifying the name of the organization or university the team will be representing. Teams will then be sent a confirmation email with their assigned 30-minute time slot (between the hours of 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM) in which the team will present to the judges on October 8th. Teams must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled presentation time. All faculty sponsors will receive the case study on (INSERT DATE HERE), and team PowerPoint presentations must be emailed to either Dr. Hudson or Dr. Sego by noon on (INSERT DATE HERE).
